The Transportation Research Center, Inc. ran test to determine Fluid Economy of Advanced EGR vs. Liquid-Urea SCR. Fluid Economy is a new term created to indicate not only fuel consumption but also liquid-urea consumed. It was found that the International Prostar+ had a consistent competitive edge over other trucks in class. The Prostar+ averaged between 1%-2.5% better fluid economy. Though the number seems modest, over the life of the truck this will amount to large savings.
